Internal Comps - 2025

ROMSEY BOWLING CLUB COMPETITION RULES -  Issue March 2025

  • Matches MUST be played by the play by date.
  •  If you are unable to play by the play by date, for ANY reason, you must notify the Competition Co-ordinator, immediately.
  • If the green is closed by the Greenkeeper and the match is due to take place close to the play by date, a 7 day extension will be given from the date of the closure.  The Challenger should then offer three dates within the extended 7 day timescale, one of which must be accepted.  This is the only time an extension will be given.
  • Do not amend the competition sheets for un-played matches, they will be updated by the Competition Co-ordinator.
  • Try not to leave arranging matches to the last minute.  Weather conditions or holidays will not be accepted as a valid reason for why a game cannot be played.
  • The first named person will be the Challenger and must contact the second person, the Opponent, AT LEAST 7 DAYS BEFORE THE PLAY BY DATE.  Three dates should be offered for the match to be completed by the play by date.  If either the Challenger or Opponent still works consideration should be given to playing either in the evening or at weekends.  The Challenger has the choice and is responsible for booking the rink. In single matches the Challenger is responsible for finding a marker.
  • The Challenger should inform the Competition Co-ordinator immediately if contact cannot be made within 7 days of the play by date.
  • In handicap matches, handicaps to be entered on the score board at the start of the game.  All scores to be recorded on results sheet.
  • Please notify the Competition Co-ordinator if any player drawn in a Pairs Competition drops out before the first match is played so that a substitute can be allocated if possible.  Once the competition has started no substitutes will be allowed.
